On 5 September 2025, the President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council, Professor Mohamed Boukhari, attended the opening ceremony of African Diaspora Day at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Centre in Algiers. The event was presided over by the Acting Prime Minister, Mr. Seifi Ghrib, and formed part of the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair 2025, whose proceedings commenced on Thursday, 4 September 2025.

This participation reflects the Council’s steadfast commitment to strengthening African cooperation and supporting initiatives aimed at deepening commercial and economic ties among the continent’s countries. It is underpinned by the firm conviction that regional integration is a cornerstone of sustainable development in Africa and that diasporas play a pivotal role in bringing this integration to fruition.

The gathering was marked by the high calibre and diversity of participation from representatives of African diasporas across the globe, as well as by the active and meaningful engagement of the Algerian community abroad, whose contributions significantly enriched this exceptional event.
