Professor Mohamed Boukhari, President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (NESEC), presided over a meeting of the Council’s Bureau at the NESEC headquarters on 18 December 2025, held in the presence of Bureau members to elect the Council’s two vice-presidents.

This step forms part of the final phase in establishing the NESEC’s institutional structures, enabling the Council to fully discharge its constitutional duties, notably its consultative role in analyzing, evaluating, issuing opinions and formulating recommendations on public policy in the economic, social and environmental spheres. It also aims to strengthen support for public authorities by providing reasoned opinions grounded in dialogue, consultation and the engagement of diverse operators and partners.

The completion of the Council’s organizational structure represents a decisive milestone for consolidating its contribution to sustainable development and for embedding a participatory approach in addressing the economic, social and environmental challenges facing the country.

At the conclusion of the proceedings, Mr. Abdelhalim Hamlaoui and Mr. Abdelmadjid Keddi were elected as vice-presidents of the Council.
