At the invitation of Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, President of the People’s National Assembly, Professor Mohamed Boukhari, President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (NESEC), took part on 17 November 2025 in a Parliamentary Day held under the theme “The Challenge of African Economic Integration: Towards an Effective Partnership.”

The event brought together the President of the Council of the Nation, government members, members of both parliamentary chambers, as well as senior state officials.

The Proceedings highlighted the current state of African economic cooperation and underscored Algeria’s strategic and pioneering role on the continent, notably following the success of the Intra‑African Trade Fair (IATF) recently hosted by Algeria.

This Parliamentary Day also marked a significant step in strengthening collective awareness of the importance of African cooperation and in consolidating efforts to accelerate economic integration across the continent. It was emphasized that this integration is no longer a mere political slogan, but a structural and civilizational project aimed at promoting Africa’s economic, food and energy sovereignty.
