At the gracious invitation of H.E. Mrs. Houria MEDDAHI, Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, the President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (NESEC), Professor Mohamed BOUKHARI, took part in the opening ceremony of the 24th edition of the International Tourism and Travel Fair (SITEV 2025). This year’s edition is held under the theme: #Travel_to_the_Heart_of_Algeria_and_Enjoy_Authentic_Tourism_and_a_Millennia-Old_Civilization.

The event brought together more than 320 exhibitors, including public and private stakeholders from the tourism sector, as well as related industries such as transport, handicrafts and digitalization. It also welcomed a notable presence of exhibitors from 27 partner and friendly countries.

This year’s fair highlighted the tourism sector’s contribution to supporting the national economy, positioning it as “one of the strategic pillars of economic diversification, through the promotion, revitalization and development of tourism, raising the awareness of tourism culture and encouraging domestic tourism.” It also served as “an important platform for discovering investment opportunities in Algeria’s tourism sector.”
