On the occasion of the International Day of Living Together in Peace, Professor Mohamed BOUKHARI, President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (NESEC), attended on May 14th, 2025, the international symposium entitled “The Qur’an in Linguistics: Between Linguistic Norms and Qur’anic Specificity,” organized by the Supreme Council of the Arabic Language.

Framed by themes of dialogue, cultural diversity and the safeguarding of linguistic and spiritual heritage, the gathering brought together scholars and specialists from Algeria and beyond. They explored the Qur’anic text’s distinctive linguistic features and assessed their significance for language studies.

Professor BOUKHARI’s presence at this event underscores the NESEC’s commitment to weaving cultural and spiritual values into human development, as well as to promoting a form of citizenship founded on the values of peace, mutual respect and intercultural dialogue.

In a world marked by social, ethical and identity challenges, this symposium affirms Algeria’s leading role in international efforts to make peaceful coexistence a shared reality—one enriched by knowledge, the recognition of others and openness to a plurality of knowledge.
