As Algeria hosted the 2025 annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group in Algiers from May 19 to 22, Professor Mohamed BOUKHARI, President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council, took part on Thursday, May 22, in a session entitled “From Vision to Implementation: Economic Diversification as a Lever for Structural Transformation.”

This session provided an opportunity to discuss the importance of economic diversification as a strategic choice that strengthens the resilience of the national economy in the face of global fluctuations and opens new perspectives for sustainable growth.  

Participants examined high-potential areas that could drive this transformation, including: sustainable agriculture, renewable energies, processing industries, digital economy and green economy. Discussions also focused on innovative financing mechanisms, the creation of incentive frameworks for investors and the need to strengthen public-private synergies.

Moreover, delegates shared successful international experiences in economic diversification, highlighting the importance of deeper economic integration and enhanced South-South cooperation as catalysts for shared development.
