The President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (NESEC), Professor Mohamed Boukhari, received, on the 10th of November 2025, at the Council’s headquarters, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Algeria, Ms. Natasha Van Rijn, accompanied by a delegation of experts from the Representative’s Office.

This meeting formed part of efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership between NESEC and UNDP, in support of national initiatives on sustainable development and inclusive governance.

During the meeting, the parties conducted a joint review of ongoing cooperation, assessing the progress of projects implemented under the cooperation agreement between the two institutions.

The discussions also explored avenues to broaden the scope of cooperation, examining projects that could open new partnership opportunities by drawing on UNDP’s support and expertise within its mandate and other areas of mutual interest.

For her part, the UNDP Resident Representative in Algeria expressed her interest in the activities carried out by NESEC within its areas of competence and reaffirmed UNDP’s readiness to continue and further strengthen cooperation with the Council.
