Professor Mohamed BOUKHARI, President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (NESEC), attended the events organized by the National Human Rights Council on Tuesday, 9 December 2025, to mark the seventy-seventh (77th) anniversary of World Human Rights Day. The ceremony was held under the theme chosen by the United Nations for 2025: "Human Rights, Our Everyday Essentials".

The proceedings were marked by the presence of representatives from various national and international authorities and institutions, as well as members of the diplomatic corps.

The opening-day programme featured presentations and interactive sessions on women’s rights, water and food security, together with a review of Algeria’s most notable achievements in the field of human rights. The event concluded with the official announcement of the 2025 Human Rights Prize.
