At the invitation of the Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Affairs, Dr. Soraya MOULOUDJI, the President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (NESEC), Professor Mohamed BOUKHARI, attended the inaugural activities of the National Exhibition for Productive Rural Women, held at the Palais des Raïs “Bastion 23” on the occasion of the International Day of Rural Women, observed annually on the 15th of October.

The event brought together numerous dignitaries, senior officials, representatives of civil society and a large number of women from productive households. The exhibition showcased a rich variety of local and artisanal products, including essential oils, natural soaps, jewellery, pottery, handcrafted chocolate, handwoven textiles and other creations that illustrate the skill and creativity of Algerian rural women.

This occasion reflects the sustained attention and firm support that the Ministry of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Affairs devotes to rural women, particularly in rural and Saharan areas. It aims to promote their inclusion in socio-economic development programmes, notably through the National Programme for the Economic Integration of Rural Women, in order to strengthen their autonomy, encourage entrepreneurship and foster income-generating activities. These initiatives thereby help to recognise and enhance the role of rural women in local and national development.
