Professor Mohamed Boukhari, President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (NESEC), participated in the 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions (AMNC 2026). The event was organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in partnership with the Government of the People's Republic of China and took place in Dalian from June 23rd to 25th, 2026.
During the event, Professor Boukhari was accompanied by Professor Farid Kourtel, Advisor to the President of the Republic, and Mr. Noureddine Ouadah, Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, alongside His Excellency the Ambassador of Algeria to the People's Republic of China.
The opening ceremony featured a keynote address by the premier of the State Council of China, who emphasized the significance of this global gathering as a premier platform for fostering international dialogue and cooperation amid rapid economic and technological shifts. The summit brought together over 2,000 delegates from more than 90 countries, including leaders and representatives from government, economic and financial institutions, universities, research centers, the media, as well as pioneers in tech innovation.
As one of the World Economic Forum's flagship international events, the Annual Meeting of the New Champions convenes key decision-makers, business leaders, startups and high-growth companies each year. It serves as a dynamic forum to address global economic challenges, explore prospects for sustainable development and highlight the role of innovation & technology in driving economic growth and enhancing competitiveness.
The 2026 edition focused on key strategies to foster innovation and entrepreneurship as vital drivers for achieving more inclusive, sustainable economic growth, aligned with current global trends and the requirements of a knowledge-based economy.
